With the onset of the semi-natural breeding’s favorable conditions at National Research & Development Centre for Aquaculture (NR&DCA) Gelephu the team had started breeding of Common Carp starting from 20th February 2021 and will be followed until August 2021 by the induce breeding of other five species to meet the growing  fingerling demand of the farmers. The consolidated fingerling demand of the fish farmers as per the indent collected by the NR&DCA is 2.739 million numbers for the year 2021. There are 519 active fish farmers possessing 705 of fish ponds with total fish pond area of 368971 m2 /91.17 acres/ 36.468 hectares for the year 2021 as per the record maintained by the NR&DCA management.
